Why is this project of interest for NCAB? The KTH Formula Student team was founded in 2003 and at first designed racing vehicles with combustion engines. Today, the team consists of approximately 40 students from the mechanical, automotive, and electrical engineering schools who have been working on electric drives since 2013. The aim of the competition is to develop and innovate engineers, and to encourage more people into engineering. Each summer, hundreds of Formula Student teams compete against each other. Scania has been a sponsor of KTH Formula Student for many years, and in 2019 the challenge for the team is to manufacture an autonomous and electrified car.
